Government of Vanuatu Commences a Secure Government Public Cloud Implementation Program

Port Vila, 26 September 2025 –  The Government of Vanuatu is proud to announce the launch of its Public Cloud Pilot Program, a critical step in the nation’s ongoing digital transformation. This program will help the Government of Vanuatu build a secure and reliable digital system that protects the country’s data and supports improved services for its people.

This Cloud Pilot Program marks a major step towards modernising public sector operations, improving service delivery for citizens, and fostering sustainable development outcomes. The Cloud Pilot Program will set the Government of Vanuatu up to provide secure and resilient digital services, and help reduce costs and encourage innovation, while keeping Vanuatu’s data safe and under local control. The goal is to make government services more accessible to everyone, including people in remote and rural areas. By using digital tools, the Government of Vanuatu can improve how services are delivered, support economic growth, and ensure that all communities benefit from modern technology.

This initiative is made possible thanks to the support of the Australian Government through the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), which has provided funding to support this important transformation. CyberCX, Indo-Pacific’s leading cyber security and cloud services provider, will be the delivery partner. CyberCX will work closely with the Government of Vanuatu to deliver a cloud capability tailored to Vanuatu’s needs, while ensuring a transformative impact on government services.

Director of DCDT, Mr John Jack said " The Department of Communications and Digital Transformation (DCDT) is proud to begin building a secure government cloud. This is a big step forward for the Government of Vanuatu. It shows the Department’s commitment to empowering the people of Vanuatu through support for economic growth, social equity and innovation while ensuring we maintain control over our data. We are grateful for Australia’s support and the expertise of CyberCX in making this happen."
